Boat Hire
The club has the following boats in its fleet.
Toppers, Bytes, Wanderers, Wayfarers, Laser Pico, 420, RS Feva, Hartley 12 & a Gull.
Boat Hire
Boat hire is available to members who are judged competent to sail. A small fee is required and you are responsible (on a you bend it, you mend it basis) up to the value club’s insurance excess limit for any damage that may occur to the boat while you are using it. This applies only to damage arising due to accidents or carelessness, not fair wear and tear. The club wayfarers are not available for hire and can only be used for training purposes.
There may be times when the club or training section place a short embargo on boat hire (for example, shortly before a course or organised club event).
The usual cost of hire is £3 per half day session for single handers and £5 for the Wanderers. Boat hire must be booked in advance with Matthew Bannar, our boat hire coordinator, using the email link below, by telephone, WhatsApp or Facebook.
Club boats can only be taken off site with the express agreement of Mya Kiliwood the Senior Dinghy Instructor of the Training Section.
A responsible adult must be present on or besides the lake if juniors wish to sail hired club boats.
Repairs to Club Boats
Damage or wear & tear must be reported by boat users and/or club trainers to Richard Harding, the club’s bosun, using the email link below, by telephone or Facebook.
Invictus Schools Group Boats
The Invictus Bytes and Wanderers can only be used with express permission of Lucy Griffiths. Please contact Lucy via the email link below, by telephone, Whatsapp or Facebook for more details.
